OIDEL, a través de Ignasi Grau, participó en un Congreso sobre políticas familiares en Zagreb. OIDEL aprovechó este acto para ponerse al día sobre los principales desafíos y las tendencias generales referentes a las familias. Igualmente, el acto sirvió para hacer una pre-presentación del Freedom of Education Index y recordar el importante rol de la libertad de la educación como base de las sociedades democráticas y libres.
Last week I went to Croatia to attend a conference entitled “Family: the Key of demographic and economic recovery”. The meeting was organized by the Croat organization u ime obitelji and was under the high patronage of Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, the President of Croatia. The aim of the conference was to share good practices concerning family policies and to understand the main challenges of this institution.
Among the main speakers of the conference we can highlight Luca Volonté –CEO of Novae Terrae-, Ms. Katalin Novák – Minister of State for Family and Youth Affairs of Hungary- and Anica Culo and Gojko Bezovan – University of Zagreb. The topics covered in the conference include Family Legislation in Support of the Family Culture; good practices in economic, social and demographic policy towards the Family and on strengthening the educational competency of the family.
The presentation of OIDEL was part of a panel consisting on the strengthening of the educational competency of the Family. OIDEL presentation consisted on a preview presentation on the Freedom of Education Index and a summarize of the rights of the families concerning education recognized in the main Human Right’s Treaties. Our intervention was useful to recall people their rights as parents and the importance of freedom to education as a corner-stone for strong democracies.
